The grid check

So, let’s look at last week’s race… it was all about performance—load times, responsiveness, and the engineering behind a site that flies.

A few surprises up front—Team PaddyPower started on pole but could only manage to hold on to P2, losing out to Mountain America Credit Union (MACU), who had a storming race, soaring into first place from 8th on the starting grid. A chaotic start saw a real grid shake-up, with Equifax and Sage Therapeutics falling back to 13 and 18, and Blip climbing from 7th to finish on the podium.

Shoutout to the teams finishing in the Top 20—Team Lloyds Banking Group, Regeneron, and Centene all came into contention. Chime and Luno stormed through the pack to cement themselves in 6th and 7th places respectively, separated by milliseconds in such a close race.

Telemetry breakdown:

The top sites are separating from the pack with a triple threat:

  • LCP under 1.5s
  • Interaction latency under 150ms
  • Zero layout shift distractions

Moment of the week

Bridgestone blazed through the Performance GP to claim Fastest Lap—clocking the biggest improvement across the board. From back-of-the-pack to full send in one race week? That’s the kind of precision pit work we love to see!

Roy’s hot take:

“Speed alone doesn’t win championships—but it sure shows which teams came to race. MACU proved that smart site tuning beats raw horsepower, and Bridgestone? They reminded everyone that one killer lap can rewrite the narrative. The teams that treated performance like a strategy, not just a stat sheet, are the ones climbing. If you're not optimizing, you're just spectating.”

Engines are fired up. Next up is the Accessibility GP—check your telemetry, tighten those setups... it’s time to prove what you’ve got under the hood, once again.

Think you can beat this week’s Fastest Lap? The track’s wide open…
